The vitamins in the fresh raw vegetables and fruit, and the antioxidants, considerably help decrease the amount of toxins in our bodies (toxins are widely known to play a part in acne breakouts. Furthermore such vitamins also ensure that other bodily functions are carried out correctly which is immensely important in the processes of healing. The vitamins also allow the body to keep the amount of bacteria to an absolute minimum.

Scientists generally agree that increased levels of sebum can also contribute in the development of the disease. Excessive production of certain hormones can cause and increase in sebum production and even bring on acne. Thankfully vitamins can normalize the production of hormones and reduce the risks of a breakout of acne. The main vitamin controlling the production of hormones is vitamin A. Vitamin A is an antioxidant and it also helps in the strengthening of skin tissue.

Other vitamins useful in the struggle against acne are vitamin B, C and E. Vitamin E is frequently included in skin creams.
