Everyone wants clear, impurities-free skin. Too bad, not all of us were blessed to have the model- look beautiful skin that we always wanted. People are always bombarded with those various skin diseases and we are always flocking to our drugstores to buy the latest phenominal treatment for that naturally gorgeous skin.

Did you realize that the skin is the largest organ in your body? Covering you from head to toe, the skin is one of the essential parts of your body’s immune system. Remember that clean and wholesome skin means a wholesome body and a delighted you.

Skin experts and practitioners recommend several natural acne remedies.

Here are several natural acne cures that we have collected just for you.

•  Cleanse your face twice a day (thrice at most) with mild and unperfumed cleanser. Avoid using soaps as they contain strong chemicals and ingredients that can harm your skin.
•  Steer clear of touching your face. Stop putting your hands by your face! I am frequnetly guilty of this, leaning my hand on the side of my head while reading. Also rubbing or holding your chin is another customary problem when reflecting. Avoid patting, touching, or picking your skin with your hands. Your hands have a larger amount of bacteria that can cause acne flare-ups. It is probably one of the toughest things to steer clear of since much of the hand to face contact through the course of the day we are unconscious of. Make it a routine to steer clear of hand contact and be aware of it throughout the day to avoid bacteria.
•  Steer clear of the temptation to pick, prick and squeeze your zits. This will send the bacteria deeper into the skin and may result in permanent scarring.
•  For lesser to normal acne, you can use non-perscription topical ointments, solutions, lotions or gels that have  benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid or azelaic acid as an alternative to benzoyl peroxide. Benzoyl peroxide is excellent for destroying P. acnes and may decrease oil production. Resorcinol, salicylic acid, and sulfur aid in the break down of blackheads and whiteheads. Salicylic acid also helps cut down the shedding of cells lining the follicles of the oil glands.
•  Topical antibiotic solutions and reams can also be applied.
•  Tea tree oil is a natural antibiotic and antibacterial product and has a drying effect on the skin. It keeps the P. Acnes bacteria at bay along with reducing facial oiliness, which makes this oil a worthwhile investment.
•  Sulfur helps to heal existing blemishes by unblocking pores.
•  Alpha or Beta Hydroxy Acids (AHA or BHA) work by keeping the skin exfoliated. Glycolic acid, the most recognized of the bunch is a effective adjuvant therapy for moderate acne. Mandelic acid, a less recognized one, but one that combines the keratolytic properties of glycolic acid with natural antibacterial properties that aid reduce the occurrence of P. acnes, may be deemed to be a more useful alpha hydroxy acid in treating blemishes. It is also no where near as irritating than glycolic acid, a factor that may be very vital to those with sensitive skin who are unable to use other products such as Retin-A, benzoyl peroxide, sulfur, or salicylic acid. It is effective in treating moderate cases of acne on its own, and can be used efficiently with other treatments on moderate acne.

These natural acne treatments are usually effective for minor to average acne problems only. The effectiveness usually takes several weeks or approximately three to six months to be noticed. For more severe and serious acne conditions, do not delay in contacting your dermatologist.

Remember, no matter what you do, simplicity and moderation is often the key. Do not neglect your skin. Go easy and gentle. And put your best face forward.
